10 Weeks In

Ten weeks in to the birth of my new son and all in the camp is still not good. Unfortunately for my little angel he has now been found out to have Reflux.

Reflux is a killer for us adults so I can only imagine what it is doing to him. When I say only imagine the constant crying does give me some indication. That magical three months that everybody keeps going on about is looming when of course he will become angel baby.

Cant complain really as he is fit and healthy in every other respect and the lack of sleep is getting better or am I just getting used to it again. Christmas is nearly upon us so lets get into the festive spirit.

Just a quick post to update myself of these hard times when I read back in ten years time and laugh about it all.

NO SLEEP

I had forgotten just how hard it is to look after a new born baby. All went well with the birth but I am now suffering from lack of sleep.

The subject of this post should have been infact Colic as this is what my new son has or at least that is what they have put it down to.

Only six days old now yet crys for England in everybody tells me he has colic but not to worry as it usually sorts itself out after three months??? THREE MONTHS

You would have thought that in this day and age somebody would have found a certain cure for this ever so common problem. Yes there are products out there but none of them seem to do the trick.

Why do they have a colic time i.e two or three hours a day when the crying is so loud and constant you think they are going to explode? Why is this usually at the same time every night? Come on somebody must have the answer.

Whoever can find a cure for this will be no doubt richer than mr Microsoft himself. Please somebody do something otherwise Christmas this year will no doubt bring me a more wonderful gift than I could ever imagine SLEEP.

Must dash to catch ten minutes sleep before the next wave of crying. Love him more than the world.

LACK terwards thats the hard bit.OF SLEEP

Id forgotten just how hard a new baby can be. All went well with the birth its the car af

NEW BABY CHARLIE

Well what can I say. Today marks the birth of the latest addition to my family. My new son. Weighing in at 7lb exactly. I wanted to post something up to mark the occassion and talk a little about how good the birth was.

Im not going to get all sentimental and say how wonderful it was (even though it was) no im going to talk about how quick it all was. I couldnt believe it. We went in for an elective cesarean section and the whole process started at 10:20 and was all over by 10:37.

Now im not talking about the first cut starting at 10:20 im saying that it was 10:20 when the midwifes came to get us and wheeled us in. We had the anaesthetic (notice I said we, I meant my wife) her stomach was prepped and cleaned the curtain went up the baby was delivered and my wife was sewn up all by 10:37. All I can say is AMAZING.

Got to take my hat off to everybody at the hospital on their proffessionalism and speed. Both baby and mother are doing fine. All that is left to say now is goodbye sleep we will meet again hopefully in the not to distant future....By the way he is georgous my new son that is, so now I have two equally stunning boys.

BROKEN BONES

Just a short post today. My son broke his wrist yeasterday playing in the park. He bounced off the safety matting on the floor.

What a good job the park was equipped with such a flooring as if it hadnt he would have more than likly shattered his wrist rather than just breaking it.

When I was young (which wasnt to many years ago) there was no such thing as protective flooring. Parks (in the good old days) must have caused parents no end of worry. Im a nervous wreck as it is in todays health and safety crazy world when it comes to protecting my son so dont think I would have let him near any of the parks I used to play in.

I do remember one occassion the day before I was flying out to spain with my mum and dad being at a park near my house that had a beem some 10ft off the ground. Dont ask me what its correct use was, but us kids used to walk accross it. For some strange reason I managed to convince my mum I could do it. For some even stranger reason she let me try. I remember getting half way accross and losing my footing. I fell the full 10ft to the ground and landed flat on my back. What a nightmare. Luckily I didnt break anything or do any serious damage but was seriously winded. I no doubt caused my mum near heart failure.

Not really much point to this post but thought I would throw that story in and say that if that park had had the protective flooring I would have probably bounced back up. Health and safety isnt all that bad after all.

We managed to go on holiday by the way.....

TOYS FOR THE BOYS

Tonights game for Manchester United sees the possible return of the greatest footballer of his time Ronaldo.

All the talks over the summer have really annoyed me (being a United fan) sorry. It seems that now a days nothing is sacred and football is no exception. Gone are the days when a player wanted to play for a club simply to win trophies.

Todays game is all about who is going to pay a player the biggest wages and buying football clubs seems to be the latest craze amongst the extremely rich.

This leads me quite niceley onto recent events at Manchester City and whilst this must be great if you are a City fan it is a travisty for football in general. I think its about time that Fifa steps in and puts a stop on clubs being bought as play things for the rich or at least sanction transfers values and fees in some way.

I believe a club should only be able to purchase a player if the club can pay the wages in its own right. Either that or there should be an agreed maximum transfer fee.

If Chelsea or City were to be sold on an equally wealthy person/persons would have to purchase the club or they would simply disappear into the night because the clubs just couldnt afford to pay the wages out of their takings alone.

Fifa step in and sort this out once and for all.

Come on the Reds

XL LEISURE GOODBYE

XL Leisure a huge travel company goes to the wall. I personally have been affected by this disaster and ended up losing a smashing deal for summer 2009. How can such a huge company just go bust seemingly overnight with no prior warning.

I have heard that over the last few months XL have been dropping flights like no tomorrow. If this didnt raise alarms then what should. Surely somebody must have put two and two together but yet not a word until it all goes belly up.

Luckily for me my booking will be protected by ATOL but I feel sorry for all those people who arent protected. All those people who have saved all year maybe two only to be told "sorry gone bust you have lost everything." What are they supposed to do now?

Whos next? Rumour has it there could be more holiday companies ready for the high jump. My advise would be to keep your money in your pocket and not to re book. Save up yourself and book last minute.
